At the end of this unit you will:

- know of teaching and learning strategies that help engage pupils in active citizenship on a local issue;
- know how to use development education 'tools' when investigating local and global issues;
- understand how photographs can be used to develop pupils' critical thinking about distant places;
- be able to reflect on geography teaching using the 'How-why' model.
