Activity

There are many ways that you can celebrate what you and your pupils have gained from this unit. Use the outcomes of all the previous activities to inform your planning. Some suggestions include:

  • a display of pupils' work for the hall or foyer;
  • a video of classroom activities;
  • taking some pupils' work into the local community, such as the local newspaper, to tell people what you are doing;
  • an event during a 'themed' week, which could be based on departmental or cross curricular activities or even a creative arts performance, which would celebrate the added value that the global dimension has brought to teaching and learning.

You can invite parents and other members of the local community to join in with these celebrations.

Evaluation

  • Carry out an evaluation of the event and keep the results for use when planning future events.
  • Circulate the outcomes of the event with an emphasis on achievements and details of any follow-up plans.
  • Note down any learning points of your own and what you feel you have achieved overall at the end of the work on this unit.
