What next?
During this unit you have explored what we mean by the global dimension, looked at how the global dimension can enhance the primary school curriculum and considered how to plan to incorporate key concepts into the subjects of the curriculum.
Now that you have looked at your own practice, investigated the curriculum and looked at examples of good practice in action, you need to plan how you can develop the global dimension in your school. Some ways include:
- auditing your schemes of work (Unit A2);
- auditing your whole-school ethos (Unit A3);
- putting the global dimension onto the agenda of meetings (Unit A5);
- having INSET days with a focus on the global dimension (Units A1-A6);
- involving the whole-school community, including parents and guardians, governors and assistant staff (Unit A6).
